Wednesday Evening – Sailing Instructions

Armdale Yacht Club 2014 Wednesday Evening Sailing Instructions 1 Rules 1.1 Racing will be governed by the current International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA), the rules of the class(es) concerned, except as any of these are changed by these Sailing Instructions. 1.2 All AYC races are designated Category “A” events. 2 Entries 2.1 All boats involved in racing must be in compliance with RRS 78. Eligible boats must be registered 15 minutes before the warning signal of the first class by signing the appropriate Class Registration Sheet. 2.2 All skippers must be a member of a sailing or yacht club recognized by the CYA in accordance with RRS 75. Proof of membership is a requirement of registration. 3 Notices to Competitors 3.1 Notices to competitors will be posted on the Official Notice Board located in the AYC Clubhouse. 4 Changes in Sailing Instructions 4.1 Any changes to the Sailing Instructions will be posted on the Official Notice Board before 1730 on the day it will take effect, except that any change to the schedule of races will be posted by 1500 on the day before it will take effect. 5 Signals Made Ashore 5.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed at the AYC Race House on the east side of Melville Island. 5.2 Code flag “AP”, Answering Pennant, with two sound signals on hoist means ‘The race is postponed’. 5.3 First gun (warning signal) will be made not less than one minute after “AP” is lowered with one sound signal. 6 Schedule of Races 6.1 There will be...
